Henderson, Wright, and Wallace, prisoners for the Ferret fraud, were discovered while making an attempt to escape from prison on Friday. The prisoners obtained files, putty, oil, and lamps, and Henderson had partially sawn through the window bars, when a warder discovered the attempt. Application has been made in Chambers for the restoration of the funds taken from Henderson at the time of his arrest, which it is alleged is not in any way connected with the charge. The Judge finally authorised the payment of £250 to Henderson. The latest news from Mount Brown is satisfactory. 1500 people are on the ground, earning from £3 to£ls weekly.
