WELLINGTON, June 21. Licensing. A.t the edjournod meeting of the Licensing Court, all the applications for new licences were refused except one, which was further adjourned for a week. DUNEDIN, Juno 21. The Result of DrinkJohn MoElhenny was killed by a tram on the Oaversham rord running over him. The deceased, who was drunk, attempted to cross the line right in front of the car, which was going at only a mile an hour. At the City Court, William Macadam was charged with attempted suicide. Whilst drunk, he laid himself down on the tram line at Forbury, and, with difficulty, he was removed, He was remanded for medical examination. Sudden Death. Mr Alexander Rond, aged eighty, died suddenly of heart disease last night at Hillside.
