HOSPITAL AND CHARITABLE AID BILL.

WELLINGTON, June 13,
Tho Hospital and Charitable Aid Bill repeal* fifteen existing Aots and Provincial Ordinances, including one of Canterbury and five of Otago. The new clauses, which I mentioned as the only fresh featuro of importance in tho Bill, are Nob. 89 and 90, and are as follows, under the heading " Special Provisions":—(B9) Where, at the date of the poking of this Act, any hospital or charitable institution is managed by any voluntary uaeociation of persons or body corporate, who shall at any time thereafter signify to the Governor thoir desire to continue or undertake such management, the Oovornor in Council may direct that such association or body shall continue or undertake the same, subject to the provisions hereinafter contained. (90) Every suoh Order in Council may be made subject to any special term or condition that the Governor thinks fit to impose, and subject thereto the following provisions shall have effect :—(1) The association or body affected by any such Order in Council shall be paid any subsidy or subsidies which, under the provisions of this Act, would have been payable to the Board of the district in respect of the hospital and obaritable institutions mentioned in tho Order in Counoil. (2) Every such hospital and oharitable institution shall be subjeot to inspection, as provided in the preceding part of this Act."
