Consols remain at 100J,-; New Zealand Five Per Cent. 10.40 loan, 105; New Zealand Pive Per Cent. 1889 loan, 105; New Zealand Four and a half Per Cent. 1879-1904 loan, 103. The Bank rate of discount is unchanged at 2-J- per cent., and the market ,'rate at If. The total reserve in notes and bullion in the Bank of England is £14,800,000. Adelaide wheat, ex warehouse, 48s; New Zealand wheat, 455; Adelaide flour, ex warehouse, 33s 6d; Australian tallow — best beef, per cwt., 355; best mutton, 37s 6d, At tbo wool sale to-day 11,400 bales were offered, and prices showed a hardening tendency. 9000 bales have been withdrawn from sale since the opening. The French Treaty. In tho House of Commons to-day a resolution was agreed to, on a division, setting forth that any fresh commercial treaty with the French Government would bo unsatisfactory unless it provided for a reduction of tho import duties levied by France. A Lively Country. News has been received to-day from Ireland, reporting that the disturbances in the neighbourhood of Cork have been renewed. Farther riots have occurred between the police and the peasantry, and general disorder prevails in the district. PARIS, June 9. French Politics, The French Senate to-day, after a, lengthy debate, threw out the Bill which passed the Chamber of Deputies last month providing for the adoption of the Scrutin de liste in place of the system of Scrutin d'arrondissiment.
