The general assembly’s church EXiENSIGN COMMITTEE beg to recommend to the Christian liberality of the Friends of the Presbyterian Church of Now Zealand tho effort now being made by the Rev. S. Slocombe and his Congregation to Erect a suitable Place of Worship. A Church is greatly needed, and will supply a felt want in the district. The peculiar circumstances of tho Minister and Congregation, consequent upon their unanimous action in joining the Presbyterian Church, and upon their losing the building in which they had hitherto worshipped, entitle them to tho special sympathy of the Christian public. A most convenient site has been granted by a liberal proprieter in the district. It is proposed to proceed at once to the Erection of a Church capable of holding about 300 persona, at a cost of about .£6OO. As the congregation will be considerably tasked to maintain ordinances for some time to come, it is hoped that they may be enabled to open the building with but a small balance of debt.
