WAIMATE STEEPLECHASES. [PBBSS ASSOCIATION TELKGBAM.I TIMARU, June I. The Waimate Steeplechases took place today on Mr Studholme's estate, and passed off very successfully. There was a fair attendance, and the racing was good. The following are the results : Waijcate Steeplechase Handicap. Sweep of 3 sovs, with lOOsovs added; 3 miles. Mr P. Butler's Agent, 12st 121 b 1 Mr H. Schluter's Little John, list 2 Mr J. Calling's Naumai, lOst 3 Winfield, Chandler, and Ivanhoe also started. Maiden Plate, of 50 sovs. Mr T. Foster's Sailor Boy walked over for the stakes. County Steeplkchask Cup, of 75 sovs; 2Jmiles. Sailor Boy, 12st 71b 1 Winfield, list 2 Clarence, 12st61b 3 Agent also ran, but fell half a mile from home.
Consolation, of 40 sovs; 2 miles. Chandler 1 Little John, Clarence, and Ivanhoe also started.
