The Union Steamship Company’s Te Anon arrived at 11.30 a.m. from Melbourne via South, after a very rough passage up the Coast. Sho ia to leavo on arrival at port or tno o.ou train from here. „ , „ Tho Union Steamship Company’s s.s. Hawea arrived yesterday from Dunedin, and left in the afternoon for Wellington and Northern ports. Tho eode letters of the Corby, expected here, are SDGT; and those of tho Abemyte, now overdue from London, P N J T. The ketch Comet, schooner Bee, and brigantine Spec arrived yesterday with cargoes of timber. The Edwin Bassett put back yesterday and anchored at the Heads, to await a change of weather before starting on her voyage to Sydney. The New Zealand Company have on their list of vessels to arrive here, tho Lurline, sailed March 10th; Opawa, April 2nd ; Waipa, April 38th; and the Eoutendeok. The Government steamer Stella arrived yesterday morning from Wellington, on a lighthouse erniae, and left in the evening for the South. THE REMINGTON. This barque, consigned to the New Zealand Shipping Company, arrived yesterday after an uneventful paasage of ninety-six days from the Lizard. She brought six passengers and a full cargo of general merchandise, and was towed in direct from sea and berthed at the Gladstone Pier. As noticed elsewhere, she brought out a valuable stud racehorse and a pack of harriers, all in admirable condition. Captain Carr, who was here with the Remington last year, reports leaving London on February 13th, the Lizards on the 19th. Fine weather was experienced to the Equator, crossed in 23 W. on March 15th. The N.B. trades were light and unsteady; the S.E , which were carried to 18 S. and lost on March 22nd, were of moderate strength. The Cape of Good Hope was passed in 42.36 S., April 13th, and the easting ran down in a mean latitude of 45, with moderately strong westerlies. The meridian of Cape Lauwin was crossed on May Bth, and that of Tasmania May 16th, the westerly winds holding right along to nassing the Snares on the 21at. Light winds, chiefly northerly, were experienced since making the coast, and until the ship was taken in tow by tbe tug Lyttelton yesterday morning. SHIPPING TELEGRAMS. Auckland, May 25.
