COURSING.
PAPANUI COURSING- CLUB. The first meeting of this club was continued t yesterday on Mr Hill's farm, Templeton. The c weather was again propitious, and although , the attendance was not so good as on Tuesday, still there was a largo number present. The first round of the All Aged Stakes was resumed by Spring and Prairie Bird being , put in the slips, and after a“ no course ”an * hour or more passed before the dogs were L again slipped, several paddocks being beaten with negative results. An adjournment to the river bed altered matters, and a strong hare being started in the tussock Spring led a up, and maintained his position for several ( turns, driving the hare splendidly, and finally winning a very long course. Ogles and Master Boy wore next sent away to another big puss, and for a few seconds the block and white got unsighted, but picking up, followed smartly on the former’s lead, and a gruelling course ] wafT'doolarod undecided. Pan and Ma Belle were then slipped. The former led the blue slut to the hare, who got in at the fourth turn, but Pan came in again full of running, and wrested a long course from Mr Walters’ slut, both eventually getting unsighted in the tussock. Fly and Plying Pish next came to the scratch, the former leading to the hare, which the white turned and got in. Exchanges ensued in a protracted course, and 3 the Pish obtained leave to run again. Ogles t and Master Roy again tried conclusions, the <3 latter leading and turning, when Ogles hod it r all his own way for a few turns, then Roy t getting in, worked splendidly and scored, a Blush Bose and Lady (late Sandy) were put in the slips, the former getting the worst of the start, and at the turn Lady got in. A r long series of exchanges followed in a spank- j ing course, which was barely won by the j fawn slut. After lunch Sunbeam led Plo (who had the worst of the start) a long course after a cross hare, driving puss to the fence, and placing a chain and a half betwixt her and Plo. After this a grand course « ensued between Parmesan and Blackbird, which was splendidly contested, and honestly won by the former dog. The first ties for the Puppy Stakes were e then run. Spy introduced Little Nell to the b hare. The slut got in at first turn, and won. Next Pun boot Harewood, and Plyerran a bye. The first ties for the All Aged were next commenced. Pinfire and Mark Lemon were o first in the slips, and the game old son of 1 Sweotlips never gave Pinfire a chance. A b rattling course ensued between Sweep and v Blackboy. The latter led, but the old dog, despite his blinking somewhat, won the course, which was a severe one. Matohem and Sir r| Roger wore next slipped to a good hare. The t former led, but Sir Roger stumbling was j beaten. Bab then disposed of Zoo, A very £ pretty course next followed between Spring 1 and Master Boy, Spring leading to the turn, e when Roy got in, but the fawn and white f was not to be denied, and often several ex- f changes won the course. Pan and Plying f Pish then ran a clinking course, which was awarded to the latter. Sport will be resumed ( this morning, and as there are only twelve courses to be run it is expected that the meeting will be concluded to day. Wo append results.
