Earl Granville, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, has referred to the Tunisian treaty in recent despatches to the French Government, emphatically protesting that France will be expected to fulfil the existing treaty obligations, and to respect privileges that England has hitherto enjoyed in connection with the government of the Tunisian principality.
