The Customs duties collected at Christchurch on Monday, May 17th, were as follows: — Spirits, £253 0a Id ; tobacco, £SO 11s 6d ; 'wine, £2B 12s 4d ; beer, £5 15s 6d ; sugar, .£6l 11s 4d; tsa, £49 14s ; goods by weight, £3 17s ; ad valorem, £57 3s ; other duties, £204 9s lid. Total, £714 14s Bd. At the usual sitting of the Waste Lands Board held at Christchurch on Monday, May 16th, sales were made as follows: —Ordinary: Ashley, 122 a. Or. 36p.; Selwyn, 117 a. ; Akaroa, 203 a.; Geraldine, 43a. Ir. 25p.; Waimate, 20a. Village settlement: Orari, deferred payments, 65a. Ir. Total acreage sold, 570 a. 3r. 21p. Total valne, £1664 7 s 9d. Befunds were made on account of former purchases in the amount of £137 5s 9d.
