Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under; — FRIDAY, MAT 13. Fer Northern ports and Australian colonics, per Arawata, at 1.40 p.m.; late fee letters, at 2 p.m.; guard’s van, 2.30 p.m. train. SATURDAY, MAY 14. For Northern Ports, per Hawea, at 7.30 p.m. The guard’s van must not be used for this mail. TUESDAY, MAY 17. For Chatham Islands, per Island Lily. THUESDA?, MAY 19. For Fiji Islands, to connect with s.s. Southern Cross at Auckland. SATURDAY, MAY 21, For United Kingdom (via San Francisco), Continents of Europe and America, West Indies, Sandwich Islands, Northern Ports of New Zealand, &c., per Wanaka, as follows: Ordinary letters at 6.30 p.m.; late fee letters at 7 p.m. ; books and newspapers, at 6 30 p.m.; money orders at 3 p.m. ; registered letters, at 5 p.m. ; guard’s van, 830 p.m. train.
