The first coursing meeting of the season was commenced to-day at Mr Minehin’s farm, near Sheffield, Only ten courses were run off, with the following results : Canterbury Derby For an unlimited number of dog puppies, at £5 5a each ; £1 Is forfeit ; 21 subscribers ; 11 acceptances ; winner, £35 ; runner up, £ls ; third dog, £5. Taylor’s bk w d Don Pedro ’ Mr C. Leitcb’s w f d Le Lonp beat Mr J. Piper’s b w d Riccarton Mr G. Ball’s f d Sir Roger beat Mr C. Campbell’s w f d Snowball Mr E. B. Hill’s r d Hopfactor ran a bye. The Canterbury Oaks. —For an unlimited number of bitch puppies, at £5 5s each, £1 Is forfeit, 22 eubs, 11 acceptances. Winner, £35; runner up, £ls; third dog, £5. FIRST BOUND. Mr C.
