THEATRE ROYAL.

The Irish drama of " Arrah na Pogue" was produced last evening at the Theatre Boyul. The namo of Irish drama is synonymous for the improbable, and " Arrah na Pogue" is no exception to the rule. Of the female characters little need be said, except that Miss Arethusa May was overweighted with the part of Arrah, and Miss Lily May did not seem at all happy in that of Panny Power. Miss Bessie Vivian was completely at home in the part of one of the ladies who gracud the wedding with their presence, and she danced a jig in really excellent style, fully deserving the loud Slaudits which greeted her. Mr Grattun ligga played Shaun the Post capitally throughout. He was natural and effective in his noting, and therefore succeeded. Mr Hamilton was somewhat out of his element in Major O'Grrady. Irish characters are clearly not his forte, whilst American ones decidedly are. Mr Kennedy's Michael Peony was a grand pioce of character acting. He looked the part to the life, and deserves very great credit for his admirable make up and acting. Mr Stark made several appearances during the evening, in the latter one of which ho was resplendent in purplo and fine linen, a faot of which he appeared to be thoroughly aware. He had little to do except give audience presumedly at unseasonable hours of the. night to several people, which he managed to do with considerable dignity. -The same piece will bo repeated to-night, .
