Mails close at tho Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to tho necessary alterations) as under; — WEDNESDAY. MAT 11. For Australian Colonies, India, China, Japan, United Kingdom, via Brindisi (specially addressed) &0., &0., by express (to connect with s.s. Eingar;oma), at 7 a.m. ; books and newspapers at 6 a.m ; registered letters, at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10th ; money orders, at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10th. Late fee letters may bo posted in the travelling Post-office van attached to the express train on Wednesday, May 11th. For Northern Ports, per Taiaroa, at 1.40 p.m. ; late fee letters, at 2 p.m. ; guard’s van, 2.30 p.m. train. THURSDAY, MAY 12. For Otago, per Penguin, at 11.15 a m. ; late fee letters, at 11.30 a.m. ; guard’s van, 12 noon train. FRIDAY, MAT 13. For Northern ports and Australian colonies, at 1.40 p.m.; late fee letters, at 2 p.m ; guard’s van, 2.30 p.m. train. TUESDAY, MAY 17. For Chatham Blands, per Island Lily. THURSDAY, MAY 19. For Fiji Islands, to connect with as. Southern Cross at Auckland. The next mail for the United Kingdom. &o , via San Francisco, will close on May 21st. Notice.— On and after Saturday, 30th April, tho Sydenham Post Office will be opened each Saturday night from half-past six till eight o’clock for the purpose of opening Savings’ Bank accounts and receiving deposits.
