[By Tblegbaph.] [Per s.s. Wakatipu, at Wellington.] LONDON, April 27. Emile do Girardin, the weli-km.wn French journalist, is dead, aged 79. Tho Bey of Tunis hos implored tho aid of tho Great Powers to settle tho dispute with France. Mr C. Bradlaugh, who has been re-elected for Northampton, entered tho House of Commons to-day, and desired to bo sworn. Sir Stafford Northcote rose as a matter of privilege, and reminded the Speaker of tho fact that Mr Bradlaugh had, on a previous occasion refused to take the oath in consequence of his religious opinions. He therefore moved that Mr Bradlaugh bo not allowed to take the oath. Tho motion was carried, and the Speaker thereupon required Mr Bradlaugh to leave tho Chamber. Mr Bradlaugh refused to withdraw, and Sir Stafford Northcote then proposed that ho be expelled, Mr Bradlaugh appealed to tho Piomicr, but Mr Gladstone declined to interfere, and the motion for expulsion was carried. Tho Sorgeant-at-Arms and his assistants then removed Mr Bradlaugh from tho Chamber amid great ex oitement and disorder. The House soon after adjourned. Tho episode has created a groat sensation throughout the country. A terrible accident occurred on board the warship Manus at Wilhomshaven, While the artillery wore practising a shell burst, and twenty-six persona were either killed or wounded

Owing to the increasing number of outrages committed in Dublin, that district has been proclaimed under the Coercion Act. There is considerable excitement amongst the adherents of the Land League in Ireland. It is expected that Mr Dillon, whose violent language and seditions speeches have made him a prominent agitator, will be arrested immediately. It is rumored that tho Government propose an attach on the Land League as a body. The “ London Times ” declares that the condition of Ireland is more serious now than it was before Parliament met and Government introduced their special legislnti.n. May 2. A Turkish Imperial ukase has been issued accepting the terms prorosed by the Powers for a rectification of the Greek frontier. Mr Dillon, member for Tipperary, has been arrested and lodged in Kilmainham gaol, Dublin. Mr Parnell, alluding to the arrest in the House of Commons, said he regretted that Government had deprived his friend the member tor Tipperary of his rights. Tho Home Rule members were much irritated at the action of Government, and obstructed the business of the House.
