MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to tho necessary alterations) as under : TUESDAY. MAY 10. For Otago and Australian Colonies, per Ringarooma, at 1.40 p.m.; late fee letters, at 2 p.m.; guard's van, 2.30 p.m. train. WEDNESDAY, MAY 11. For Australian Colonies, India, China, Japan, United Kingdom, via Brindisi (specially addressed) &c , &c, by express (to connect with s.s. Ringarjoma), at 7 a.m. ; books and newspapers at 6 a.m ; registered letters, at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10th ; money orders, at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10th. Late fee letters may be posted in the travelling Post-office van attached to tho express train on Wednesday, May 11th. For Northern Ports, per Taiaroa, at 1.40 p.m.; late fee letters, at 2 p.m. ; guard's van, 2.30 p.m. train. TUESDAY, MAY 17. For Chatham Islands, per Island Lily. # The next mail for the United Kingdom, &c , via San Francisoo, will close on May 21st.
