MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under SATURDAY, MAY 7. For Northern Ports, per Penguin, at 7.30 p.m. The guard’s van must not be used for this mail. MONDAY, MAY 9. For Northern ports, per Grafton, at 1.40 p.m ; late fee letters, at 2 p.m. ; guard’s van, 2.30 p.m. train. TUESDAY, MAY 10. For Otago and Australian Colonies, per Bingarooma, at 1.40 p.m.; late fee letters, at 2 p.m.; guard’s van, 2.30 p.m. train. WEDNESDAY. MAY 11. For Australian Colonies, India, China, Japan, United Kingdom, via Brindisi (specially addressed) &0., &c., by express (to connect with s.s. Eingarooma), at 7 a.m. ; boobs and newspapers at 6 a.m ; registered letters, at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10th ; money orders, at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10th. Late fee letters may be posted in the travelling Post-office van attached to the express train on Wednesday, May 11th. The next mail for the United Kingdom, &0., via San Francisoo, will close on May 21st. Notice. —On and after Saturday, 30th April, the Sydenham Post Office will be opened each Saturday night from half-past six till eight o’clock for the purpose of opening Savings’ Bank accounts and receiving deposits.
