THE TARARUA DISASTER.

A sum of £4l has been collected at the Kaiapoi Woollen Factory in aid of the fund tor the relief of the families of Eevs. J. Armitnga and J. B. Richardson. ~ Owing to tho wish of ministers and otners residing in tho country, the funeral sermon tor the ministers and members of the Wesleyan Church, lost in the Tararna, will be'preachoa in the Durham street Wesleyan Church on Thursday evening next, instead of Sunday, as at present arranged. _ Offertories in aid of th •so who are sufferers by the Tararua disaster will he made m ot. John’s Church to-morrow, at both services. The Rev. F. Knowles will preach at the morning service, the Incumbent at evening service. To-morrow morning the Rev. Jas. Bailor will preach in the Wesleyan Church, Ot. Alban’s ; and to-morrow evening in the church in Crescent road, Kuightstown. The subjects of each discourse will, it is understood, have reference to tho loss sustained by the Tararna disaster. Sermons arc announced to ho preached on the above disaster at the Wesleyan Church. Colombo road, the North Belt Presbyterian Church, Baptist Church, and Wesleyan Church, Lyttelton. A concert, in aid of the fund for the relief of distress caused by the wreck, will be given by tho Sydenham Musical Society, at the Oddfellows’ Hall, on Wednesday next. A telegram last night from Dunedin says There is no fresh news from the wreck of the Tararna. Tho Union Company have received a telegram from London, asking if George Moore Frenn was a passenger by the Tararna, but there is no trace of his having booked.
