Tbbutkb's telegrams.] LONDON, May 2. Irish land Bill. In the House of Commons this evening the Irish Land Bill again came np for consideration on the second reading. In the course of debate, Lord Elcho, member for Haddingtonshire, acting on. behalf of the Conservatives, made a speech in which he strongly denounced the provisions of the Bill. He concluded by moving its rejection as a whole by the House. The discussion on this motion continues. Parliamentary Affirmation. A Ministerial Bill has been introduced by the Right Hon. W. E. Gladstone, providing that persons, who are permitted io affirm in courts of law, should be authorised to make an affirmation on their entry into Parliament, in place of the customary oath of allegiance. Disparaging Beaconsfield. Mr Labouchere, M.P. for Northampton, has given notice, in the House of Commons, of motion condemning a proposal to be submitted shortly by the Premier, that funds should be voted for the erection of a monument in Westminster Abbey to the late Earl Beaconsfield. May 3. Arrest of Mr Dillon* Mr John Dillon, M.P. for Tipperary, and one of the chief agitators of the Land League, has been arrested in Ireland, on a warrant issued by the Viceroy under the Coercion Act.
