CRICKET.
PRESS CLUB. Subjoined are the averages of the Press Club for the past season. The bowling averages show well, but the batting, with a few exceptions, has been poor. Both may be attributed to the wicket provided by the Association, ‘which has by no means been a first-class one. The matches played were as follows :—First eleven, 14 ; won 9 ; lost 3 ; drawn 2. Second eleven, 6; won .2 ; lost 4. BATTING AVERAGES.
* Not ont. The following have also played at times: —Coles 3 innings, average 6; Watts, 8 innings, average 3.8 ; Henwood, 5 innings, average 3.0; Meadows, 7 innings, average 2.2; Bird, 7 innings, average 1.2 ; Whitford, 6 innings, average 1.6. BOWLING ANALYSES.
Ludford, O’Connor, Coles and Cant have also howled occasionally.
