Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under : WEDNESDAY, APRIL 27. For the United Kingdom, via Brindisi (for specially addressed correspondence only), Continent of Europe, Point de Galle, India, China, Japan, the East, Aden, Mauritius, Natal, Cape of Good Hope, Suez, the Mediterranean Ports, Australian Colonies, Ac, per express train (to connect with s.s. Tararua, at Bluff), as follows: —Ordinary letters, at 7 a.m.; books and newspapers at 6 a.m ; registered letters at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, April 26th ; money orders at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 26th. Late fee letters may be posted in the travelling Postoffice van attached to the express train on Wednesday, April 27th. Note—The rate of postage for the United Kingdom by this route is 8d per half ounce. THUBSDAT, APRIL 28. For Otago per Hawea, at 11.15 a.m. ; late fee letters, at 11.30 a.m.; guard's van, 12 noon train.
For Northern Ports and Australian Colonie?, at 1.40 p m.; late fee letters, at 2 p.m.; guard's van, 2.30 p.m. train. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
