Superintendent Badlier informed the Police Board on the 14th instant that be considered the Glenrowan district to be still in an unsettled state, and that an outbreak might be expected any time. The Kelly Reward Board have awarded Superintendent Hare £800; Mr Ournow, schoolmaster, £550 ; Constable Kelly, £377; Sergeant Steele, £290 ; Superintendent Sadlier, £240; Mr O’Conner, Queensland, £237; Guard Dowoett, £175. The above distribution of money is not entirely approved by Mr Graham Berry, who intends to take time to consider the matter before acting on the report. The Police Board requested Mr Berry not to give effect to the recommendations of the reward committee until the inquiry is completed ; but this he declines to do. The attendance at tho Exhibition on Easter Monday was 22,000, being the largest yet. The carved Maori house behind the New Zealand Court in the Exhibition has been presented to tho South Kensington Museum, London.
Auction sales are being now held in the Exhibition, which is rapidly being cleared. SYDNEY, April 20. The weother on Easter Monday was showery, limiting the attendance at outdoor attractions, including the Bandwiok Races and the torpedo experiments at the Middle Heads. The s.s. Lusitania jtakes IO.OOOIbs of frozen beef and mutton, &c., for her use on the homeward passage. The report of the Australasian Mutual Provident is very favorable. The policies issued exceed those of any previous year. The accumulated funds are £3379.
ADELAIDE, April 20.
The actual revenue returns for the March quarter show an income •of £518,000, being an increase of £34,000. The expenditure was £470,000, being an increase of £15,000. The revenue for .the year was £2,062,000, being an inoreace of £382,000. The expenditure for the year was £1.938,000, being an increase of £90,000. The land sales for March produced £71,000. The Earl and Countess of Ellesmere, now on a visit here, are entertained by the Governor.
BRISBANE, April 20. The now census shows a large diminution in the Chinese population. The vital statistics for 31st December show the population of Queensland to be 226,000. Arrivals for the year, 13,000; departures, 10 ' 000 ' - =#=
