A six days’ pedestrian tournament was finished here on Saturday night. Edwards walked the greatest distance, 451 miles; Swan, of New Zealand, coming next, with 423 miles. Both men did their distances easily.
SYDNEY, April 25. Shipping. The Union Company’s s.s. Hero, which left here on Friday last for New Zealand, took 380 Chinese. The s.s. Brisbane, which was quarantined at Cooktown for small-pox, is now on her way hither with 350 Chinese.
