CHRISTCHUROH. Saturday, Aphil 23. J. Ollivier, and J. E. Parker, Bags., J.P.'sJ Drunkenness. David Alexander was brought up on a charge of being drunk and disorderly. According to the evidence, prisoner had been seen to lie down and place his head on the rail opposite the Christchurch Station on Friday afternoon. He was drur.k, but his actions were so strange ae to induoe a suspicion of his being insane. He was remanded for medical examination. Exclusion op thb Pbbsb.—Mr Duncan, Crown Proeecutor, asked for ths private hearing of an application, the tCB9' of which it
was advisable at present not to make public Under the Justices of the Peaoe Act, 1866, see. 53, it was within the power of the Benoh to clear the Court. The representatives of the Press were accordingly requested to withdraw, and the doors of the Court were looked.
