Tha Tararna, Captain Garrard, left Sydney at 9 p.m. on April 14th, experienced light fresh variable winds and fine weather, and arrived at Russell at 6 a.m. to-day. On Sunday, 17th inst., a child six months old, named Mary Atkin, died of convulsions, and was buried at sea the same day. Passengers—For Auckland: Messrs Park (3), Barber (2), Anderson, Laurie, Russell, Pluss, Herris, and Rosa; thirteen steerage. For Napier: Measra Yatea. For Welling. ton: Messrs Cotter (3), Freeth. At 5 p.m. on tbe 19th, off Sapirth Bay, North Cape, ran down to the brig Wild Wave, of Sydney, in answer to Bignals. Hailed her, and found her under jury rudder and short of water. Sent a bo»t, and Captain Hurley came on board and reported having left Kaipara en Thursday, April 14th, bound for Melbourne. The wind died away when on the bar, and the brig became unmanageable, and drifted on the north spit. Tha sea made a clean breach over her, and swept the deck of everything movable and stove in the boats. The Wild Wave drifted over the Slit, carrying away her rudder. After getting ear a jury rndder was rigged. The Tararua reports that the vessel is manageable, and required no assistance, but wanted water. She is making for the Bay of Islands or Auckland. The Tararna supplied him with water, and at 6 p.m. proceeded on to Rnsuflll.
