MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) ns under:— TUESDAY, APRIL 19, For Otago and Australian Colonies (except New South Wales and Queensland), per Albion, at 11.15 a.m.; late fee letters, at 11.30 a.m.; guard’s van, 12 noon train. For Northern Ports, per Wanaka, at 1.40 n.m,; late fee letters, at 2 p.m. ; guard’s van, 2.30 p.m. train. SATURDAY, APRIL 23. For United Kingdom, via San Francisco, Continents of Europe and America, West Indies, Sandwich Islands, Northern Ports of New Zealand, &c.. per Hawea, as follows: — Ordinary letters at 6.30 p.m.; late fee letters at 7 p.m. ; books and newspapers, at 6 p.m.; money orders at 3 p.m. ; registered letters, at 5 p.m.; guard’s van, 8.30 p.m. train. NOTICE. On Easter Monday the sub-offices in tho Christchurch district (except Lyttelton) will be open to the public only from 10 to 10.30 a.m. and from 5 to 5.30 p.m. SYDNEY J.
