Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under: — SATURDAY, APRIL 16. For Northern Ports, per Penguin, at 7.30 P m ’ TUESDAY, APRIL 19. For Otago and Australian Colonies (except New South Wales and Queensland), per Albion, at 1.40 p.m.; late fee letters, at 2 p.m.; guard’s van, 2.30 p.m. train. For Northern Ports, per Wanaka, at 1.40 p.m.; late fee letters, at 2 p.m.; guard’s van, 2.30 p.m. train. The next mail for the United Kingdom, &c. (via San Francisco), will leave on April 23rd. Note—On Easter Monday the sub-offices in the Christchurch district (except Lyttelton) will be open to the public only from 10 to 10.30 a.m. and from 5 to 5.30 p.m.
