CORRESPONDENCE
To tlie Editor of tlie Olooe. Sib, —The thanks of the community are due to you for druwing attention to the manner of treating those who are committed for medical treament, by incarcerating them in the Xjyttelton &a<A ; but will you allow me to draw your attention to another crying evil. Is it known to the public that the North House referred to in your article, and which cost so many thousands of pounds, has been appropriated as a private dwelling house by the Resident Doctor, and that the unfortunate inebriate patients have been transferred to the old building to enjoy the society of lunatio patients ? Would not a sojourn with Mr Phillips be nroferable ? Yours, &c, JUSTICE.
