The Customs duties collected at Christchurch on Saturday, April 9th, were as follows : Spirits, .£386 2a Id; wine. .£7 ; sugar, £43 19s lOd ; goods by weight, .£74 6s 3d ; ad valorem, £l7 Bs. Total, £528 16a 2d. AUCTIONEER'S REPORT. Mssar.s J. T Ford and Co. report having held a very successful clearing sale at Cashmere yesterday. Despite the unfavorable weather there was a very large attendance, and the bidding was fairly spirited. In consequence of the large number of lota they were unable to finish the sale, which will bo resumed in a few days, of which due notice will be given. The following were a few of the principal sales effected, viz : In horses they sold upwards of sixty-seven at the following prices : Draught stock, £39, £34, £36, £25, £2B. £3O, £22, £l7, £ls. £l3, £l6, £l6, £22. &c. Light horses and young stock, £lB, £2O, £l9, £l6 10s, £l7 10s, £l3 10s, £ls 10s, &c„ Ac.. &c. Donkeys fetched from £4 10s to £7 10s. The dairy cows sold at from £7 10s to £ll 10s. Calves from 24s upwards. Working bnllocks from £2O to £24 a pair. The dead stock also fetched very satisfactory prices. COMMERCIAL TELEGRAMS. Napier, April 11. Messrs Hoadley and Lyon report holding a wool sale on Wednesday. 436 pockets and 51 bags wool were offered and all sold at full values. Merino (scoured) up to Is 9d; merino pieces (scoured) to la 6d ; crossbreds (scoured) Is lid; greasy merino to OJ-d; crossbred to Bd. Tho sale was animated and very satisfactory to sellers.
