Tenders for the Tasmanian loan of £300,000, at 4 per cent,, were opened to-day, and were found to contain applications amounting to four times the sum required. The loan will bo allotted at £99 6s 4d. Tenders for a loan for the colony of Fiji of £150,000, bearing interest at 4 i per cent., were also opened to-day, and the amount asked for was likewise found to be quadrupled. The whole loan will bo allotted at £99 10s. Argyle Recalcitrant. It is announced that the Duke of Argyle has resigned his position as Lord of the Privy Seal in the Ministry. His Grace’s resignation is duo to a difference of opinion with his late colleagues as to the provisions of the Irish Land Bill which has been introduced in Parliament. Earl BeaoonsfieldA bulletin, issued this morning, states that Earl Beaconsfield’s relapse has left him exceedingly weak, and uneasiness is expressed as to his state. Great and generalanxiety is felt at the critical nature of his Lordship’s illness. ROME, April 8. New Ministry Looming. The Chamber of Deputies has negatived a vote of confidence in the Ministry, and Signor Oariloli and his colleagueshave accordingly tendered their resignations to the King.
