Mailß close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (snbject to the necessary alterations) as under:—
SATUEDAY, April 9. For Northern Ports and West Coast Sounds, per Wanaka, at 7.30 p.m. MONDAY, April 11. For Chatham Islands, per Omaha, at 1.40 p.m. ; late fee letters at 2 p.m.; guard's van, 2.30 p.m. train. WEDNESDAY, April 13. For United Kingdom via Brradiei (for specially addressed correspondence only), Continent of Enrope, Point de Galle, India, China. Japan, tho East, Aden, Mauritius, Natal, Cape of Good Hope, Suez, the Mediterranean Ports, Australian Colonies, &c, per express train (to connect with s.s. Eotomahanaat Bluff), as follows:—Ordinary letters at 7 a.m.; books and newspapers at 6 a.m.; registered letters at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, 12th; money orders at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, 12th. Late fee letters may bo posted in tho travelling post office van attached to the express trai« on Wednesday, April 13th. Note.—The rate of postage for the United Kingdom by this route is 84 per half-ounce. The next mail for the United Kingdom via San Francisco will leave on April 23rd. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
