CHRISTCHURCH. Tuesday, Aphid 5. [Before J. Inglis and 8. Hewlings, Eaqs., J.P.’fl.]
Dbdnkbnness.—For first offences three men were fined each ss.
IILKOAELY ON PbbmiseS —Thos. Murray was brought up for being unlawfully on the premises of Twickenham House, a bearding house. He had been expelled, and had returned. Ho pleaded guilty, and was sentenced to forty-eight hours’ imprisonment, with hard labour.
Vaobanoy. —Jas. Sullivan pleaded guilty to not having any lawful means of support. He had given himself up to the police on the previous night as being destitute. He appeared before the Court in a very filthy condition. Sergeant Wilson gave accused a very bad character. He was a constant frequenter of public-houses, and hanger-on to drunken men, unfortunate women,&c. He was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment, with hard labour.
