Montgomery, who had been at Lyttolton for medical treatment, was now diooharged, and ordered to pay doctor s fee. Charles Guy, for using obscene language in a thoroughfare, was fined 10s. Abating a Nuisance—ln the case o. the Inapector of Nuisancoß against Thoß. BatOß, for allowing the nuisance of a smoky and dangerous chimney to exist, the Inspector stated that no alteration had been made since last hearing. The Bench adjourned the case for a week, defendant to do away with the nuisance or be fined. Brkach of Sheep ObdinANCß.—George O'Connel was charged with having brought 13 sheep from Otago into Canterbury without having first obtained a certificate of their condition, or without nolico of hia intention, an required by tho Act. He admitted the charge. The Bench inflicted the minimum penalty of £lO. MiacßiiiAHKOtrs.—Peter Harris wns charged with rescuing, on March 15th last, four head of cattle which had been seized for impounding by Frank Houghton. Mr Perceval appeared for defondant. Prosecutor, on being put into tho box, said he did not now know whether defendant waa tho person who rescued tho oattle. The case was dismissed, aolioitor's feoboing allowed againßtproaecutor. —A ohargo against Mary Daley for assaulting Froderick Lawrence was dismissed, defendant to pay costs and one witness 2s. A. Walker was charged with destroying a fowl-house belonging to W. Hall. Mr Salter appaared for plaintiff, Mr Stringer for After hearing evidence, the caso was dismissed.— Isabella Murphy, for using abusive language to Elizi Tttffe, wan fined 10a and exponsea of one witneos. Thomas Morgan, charged with violently assaulting his wife, Mary Ann Morgan, did not appear. A warrant was ordered to issue for hia arreat. A caso againet Ann Mazey for ÜBing abusive language to Bridget McGowan was diomLsed with a caution. Pawnbbokeb's License.—A pawnbroker b license was granted to S. D. Nathan.
