The Customs duties collected at Christchurch on Thursday, March 31st, wore as follows :— Spirits, £ll6 13s lOd ; tobacco, £lO9 .7fl 6d ; wine, £6 18s ; sugar, £6 2s lid; tea, £57 16s 8d; goods by weight, £7 IGs 4d; ad valorem, £3O 130 ; total, £335 7s6d. AUCTIONEER’S REPORT. Mrases J. T. Ford and Co. report the particulars aud prices of a stock sole they held at the Addington Yards yesterday, on account of the executors of the into Sir J. C. Wilson :—The stock were brought to hand very carefully by the manager and his staff, and were in excellent condition. By twelve o’clock the classing was finished, and, after justice had been done to a luncheon provided, the business of the day began with the sheep. 100 fat wethers fo'l to the nod of Mr Rosowarne at 12s 3d. By the same buyer 50 fat owes bought at 15s 6d, and 21 at lls 6d each. Mr Rowe then took possession of the auctioneer, and carried away 160 fat sheep at 10s 3d each. 64 fell to Mr Berry at 10s 3d each, and 40 at 10s 6d to Mr Smith. 185 were purchased by Mr Brit tan at 10s 3d. 180 breeding ewes to Mr Kruse at 8s 6d, 161 to Mr Hinchcliffo at 8s Gd, and to Mr Garland 26 at Ba. The merino wethers wont in a lino to Mr Ingle at 6s each. This completed the sheep sale. Thirty-eight head of fat cattle sold at from £G 15s to £8 17s 6d each ; 49 head of store steers sold at from £5 to £5 15s each; 42 head of springing heifers realised from £5 I2b 6d to £8 each; 121 of mixed sexes and sizes brought from £2 to £4 each. Biddings wore spirited, and the sale a very successful one. A clearing sale will take place at Cashmere on Monday, the 11th inst.. when a choice dairy of twenty-six cows will be offered. Messrs J. T. Ford and Co. also report the sole of a freehold farm at the Hororata, comprising fifty acres, the property of the late Mr J. B. Manson. This property was sold at a clearing sale by public auction at the homestead, on March the £stu, and realised £lO Is per acre, the purchaser being Mr J. Steele. The horses, cows, young stock, and farm implements also brought capital prices.
