MELBOURNE, March 29. The Reform Measure.

In tho Legislative Council this evening a motion introduced hy the Hon. Mr Read, a Government supporter, disagreeing with the President’s ruling in regard to the Reform Bill, was negatived after debate. It has transpired, however, that at a caucus of members of the Council it was agreed to waive the technical grounds of objection to the reception of the Reform Bill from the Assembly, and to proceed with the consideration of that measure on its merits.

MELBOURNE, March 30, Forcing Reform.

The Legislative Council will to-day discuss a motion to bo introduced hy the Hon. Mr Cuthbert in favor of the Reform Bill being read a first time under protest.
