In view of the possibility of hostilities breaking out between Turkey and Greece, the Sultan has asked the Khedive that a contingent of Egyptian troops may be sent for service in Turkey if war is declared. ST. PETERSBURG, March 28. The Last of the Czar. The funeral of the late Czar took place to-day. CAPETOWN, March 28. The War. News has been recoivod to-day from Basutoland reporting the resumption of hostilities between the Basutos and tho Colonial forces. A severe kattlo has been fought between the latter under Colonol Carrington and the enemy, but without decided success to either side. Colonel Carrington was somewhat severely wounded during the fight. The New Governor. Sir Hercules Robinson made a speech to-day, in the course of which ho said that there was every prospect of permanent peace being secured in tho Transvaal.
