March 22nd, were as follows: Spirits, £236 11a Id; cigars, .£35 6s 6d; wine, £34; beer. £147 6s 6d; sugar, £ll 19a 9d; tea, £sl 9s ; goods by weight, £703 Ss 8d; ad valorem, £2998 16s; other duties, £57 15s lid. Total, £ 1274 13a sd. COMMERCIAL TELEGRAMS. Dunedin, March 23. Fat cattle are in short supply. Prime beef 22a 6d per lOOlbs. Pat sheep met with good competition : —Prime mutton, 2d to 2id per lb. The demand ia active far all descriptions of utore sheep, except broken-mouthed. WheatMillers are showing greater disposition to purchase. Best milling, 3s 6d to 3s 9d. Oats — firm at last prices. Feed, la 6d to la 6Jd; milling, Is 7d. Barley—no demand except for really prime. Prime malting, 3s to 3s 3d.
