The Governor refused compliance, and an invasion is now commonly expected. The Marquis of Hartmgton has declared that the disclosures in the correspondence with regard to the seizure of Cabul will not affect the resolution of the Government to abandon Candahar. «... , ~ Canovas del Castello, chief of the dynastic Conservatives, has been succeeded in tbeHpanish Premiership by Logaßta, leader of the dynsstia Liberals. The king refused to assent to a Bill for the conversion of the redeemabledebt, which would have neoesutated Canovas being returned in power another eighteen months.
