COMMERCIAL.
The Customs duties collected at Chriatohuroh on Wednesday, March 16th. were as follows: Spirita, £216 6s Id; wine, -£9; beer, £6116a ; ■agar, £l9 16a 8d ; tea, £59 1b ; ad valorem, £5 14a ; other duties, £23 4a 6d. Total, £394 18a 3d. Bmßineaa during the week has remained flat and unprofitable. There is very little stirring, and sales in most descriptions of goods hare bean confined to small parcels. The Marlborough haa put in an appearance, and several itemß of her cargo come to a good market. A rumor haa hern current that the railway department think of imposing a higher rate of carriage oa all grain sacks containing over four bushels. We presume the Department, in entertaining any such proposal, look forward to the following grain season, but do not propose applying it to the present. At tiny rate, we think it is duo to the mercantile public to be informed on the point, as the time ia approaching when the arrangementa for the next season's supply of cornsacka have to be made. A few Bales can be noted in low tens, both in boxes and half-chesta, at lOd to Is. Sugars are without change. The demand for clovers still continues remarkably good, with a bare market. It is hoped the end of the month will initiate a better feeling and dovelope a stronger demand. SHARE MARKET.
