DOUBLE AND TWISTED.
A laughable circumstance once took place upon a trial in Lancashire, where the Rev, Mr Wood was examined as a witness. Upon giving his name, Oiliwell Wooo, the judge, addressing the reverend person, said—- " Pray, Mr Wood, how do yon spell your namof” Tho old gentleman rephd—- “ O double T, I double U, E double L, Djubio U, Double O, D.” Upon which the astonished lawyer laid down his pen, saying it was tho most extraordinary name he had ever met in hie life, and after two or three attempts, declared ho was unable to record it. Tho Court was convulsed with laughter.
