WANGANUI RACES. [PEB PBBBS ASSOCIATION.] WANGANUI, March 11. The weather continued bountiful, and the attendance waa much larger, about 3100 being present. The racing throughout was very excellent, and the favorites ware ruthlessly slaughtered. Sir George’s victory for the Cop was loudly cheered. The following are the results Handicap Hurdles, of 75 sovs. Chandler, 9st lOlbs (Jones) 1 Ada, lOat 21b 2 Lady Mary, Hat 121 b 3 Nine started. Won by a length. Hack Hurdle Race was won by Tartar, brother to Dan. Railway Plate, of 60 sovs. li miles; -CGO ; weight for age. Only Foul Flay and Hailstorm started. Foul Play won as he liked. Wanganui Cup, of GOO sovs. 2i miles. _ Ten came to the post, Foul Play, Ob Dit, Badsworth, Redeemer, and My Dream_ being scratched. Of the ten left in, Randwick, on the strength of his victory on the preceding day, was made the favorite, Natator and Libeller being next in demand. The race resulted as under: — Sir George, 6»t 101 b ... ... (Teird) 1 Libeller, 7st 41b (Williams) 2 Natator, Bst 121 b (Ferrett) 3 Won by a length. Time, 4min lOiaec. Maiden Plate of 60 sovs ; Hi miles. Mr Redwood’s Frailty 1 Bl»e Gown 2 Chandler 3 Ten started. Won by half a length. Time, 2min sisec. District Handicap of 100 sovs ; 2 miles. My Dream, 7st (G. Williams) 1 Sincerity, 6st 71b ... 2 Messenger 3 Nine started. My Dream won by a head, the two next being close together, with Opawa fourth. Time, 3min 45sec. Consolation Rack of 40 sovs; one mile and a distance. Dan, 7at 51b 1 Annuity, 6st 81b 2 Billingsgate, 9st 71b 3 Four started. Won, after a pretty raca, by a head. Time, 2min 4sec. Over J 34000 went through the totalisator during the two days.
