ASHBURTON HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.
The anm.al show of tho above sneioty was lisld on Saturday, in the Town Hall, Ashburton. The number of exhibits was much largo?, and the show as a whole was a great improvement on that of laofc year, being exceedingly creditable for suoh a dry season. The fuchsias and out. (lowers ware remarkably good, and tho show of fruit and vegetables would do credit to any district in New Zealand, ospoci.lly a quantity of grapes exhibited by Mr B. Q. Wrtght, and some potatoes grown on tho farm of Mr G. T. Smith. The arrangements of tho committee were excellent, evidence of the greatest oare and attention boing observable everywhere.
