THE AROHA MURDER.

[I'SSB3 ASSOCIATION TBLEOBAM.] GBAHAMSi'OWN, February 25. The trial of Procoffy for murder, which commenced yesterday, was continued to-day. John Btrgm, the nest witness, deposed that he had seen deceased and accused together on the night of the murder. He retired to rest early, but was awakened about elovon o'clock by hearing a quarrel, and u prolonged yell. He thought it at first a woman's voice, but subsequently recognised it as a Maori's. Presently he heard an European's voice, but did not recognise the words used. The distance from his hut to the place where the body was found was 517 yards. He knew accused had been fighting with doceased during the evening. Doctor Huxtable deposed to making a poit-mortcm elimination on the body of deceased. He found an inoiseu wound reaching from ear to ear, severing blood vessels and the windpipe. The cutting instrument hod been several times drawn through the wound. Some of the fingers were also out, and deceased wu severely bruised on tho forehead. A gash on tho throat was made after tho man had been rendered insensible. He hod made an investigation of the blood stains, and found a portion of coagulated blood on the knife, but he could not say _it was human blood. Other evidence having been tnkon, the trial wag adjourned till Tuesday,
