CORN EXCHANGE.
The following is the report for the week ending Friday, Fobruary 25th, 1881: There la littlo or no alteration to notice in values during the paßt week. Business has been rathar dull, tho bnyer3 are reticent. This is mainly attributable to the scarcity of tannage. A.Ur/?o portion of whoat to be exported this -season will go on prowers' account. The tone of tho market is decidedly weaker. Tho weather meantime continues most favorable for thrashing operations. Large quantities of grain continue to arrive at tho country stations. Tho yield is turning out exceadingly favorable, and the quality of the grain as a rule ia undeniable. Wheat—First class milling samples are obanging hands at from 3s 6d to 3s 9d. _ Grain of a quality hardly so (,ood as the foregoing, 2d per bushol les3. First class Tuscan, fit for good, a shade over the highest quotation is obtainable Chick whoat ranges betweon 2s and 2b 9il per bushel. Oats.—The busine3B doing during the week has boen small. This is on account of the Bvarcity of tonnage. Good stout milling are worth Is 6d to Is 7d per bushol; good feed samples, la 3d to la sd; inferior feed samples, Is Id to Is 2d per bushel. Barley.—Very few sale* have as yet been effected. Brewers and maltstors are rather indifferent, having still considerable stocks on hand of lost season's crop. The want _of tonnage is also detrimental to business being done in this cereal. First -china malting samples are worth from 3s to 3s 6d per bushel; secondclass samples are almost unsaleable. Grass Seed.—The demand is brisk, with a rather limited supply. Well cleaned farmers' samples are worth from 3s to 3s 6d per bushol. Oheeso and Bntter.—The market for the former is still very weak, and quotations are lower, 3Jd p6r lb boing the outside obtainable. The latter is saleable at from 6d to 6Jd per lb.
