The Customs duties collected at Christchurch «n Tuesday, February 22nd, wore as follows i Spirits, J 8144 19s 3d; tobacco, .£176 Is 6d; wine, .£35 10a ; beer, .£3 Is 6d; sugar, JMS 4a lOd: tea, JJ6 13s 4d; goods by weight, £7 18s 4d; ad valorem, £i 14s lOd. Total, -6422 2s 94. The New-Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency report under date London, February 21st : 'The wool sales progress firmly. Greasy and combing washed have each declined Id per lb since the close of last sales. Superior clothing, washed and aoonred crossbreds, have declined Id to lid per lb. Up to date 37,000 bales have been sold. Home buyers are purchasing freely, but competition on French account is sluggish. COMMERCIAL TELEGRAMS. Dunedin, February 23. Fat oatble are in full supply at 21s per lOOlbs. Fat sheep are in excessive supply at IJd per lb. Store sheep are in demand. Wheat —The now crop is coming in in good condition, bat purchases are only made to supply present needs. Prime milling, 3s 9d ; ordinary, 3a to 3s 6d. Oats—The demand has improved, at la 4id to Is 6d for feed. Barley has little or no business.
