The Customs duties oollaoted at Christchurch on Friday, February 18th, were as follows: —Spirits, .£l2B 2b 101; tobacco, .£132 9a £3 ; wine, -G9 4s; sugar, £sl Os lOd ; tea, £2O 12s 6d: goods by weight, £42 17a Id; ad valorem, £159. Total, £54316s 9d. Mxssoa H. Matson ako Co. held a sale of properties at their salerooms on Saturday last. The attendance was largo, but the biddings were idow. Several properties were offered, but not of a class that finds ready sale at the present time. Two sections at New Brighton, containing about one acre each, were sold for £lO, and several other sales are pending. One acre of land, with frontage on the Lincoln road, was •old for £350.
