DOGS LAYING.

To the Editor of the Globe. Silt, —Tour issue last evening contains a letter from the steward of the Christchurch Club, stating that a dog has been “laying” in the drain opposite the Christchurch Club for a week past, and I am certainly astonished that the lynx-eyed director of our Museum, Dr. von Haast, bus not spotted the curiosity. Z have heard of mare’s nests, and of hens “laying,” but never of a dog so far having forgotten itself. Possibly, however, Mr Cochrane moans “ lying,” in which case the Museum has lost a valuable curiosity, and the writer a sleepless night for nothing. Tours, AN ANXIOUS ENQUIRER.
