The weather was magnificent, and there was an unusually large concourse present. The only game of chance permitted wag the totalisator, which was well patronised. Maiden Plate ; weight for age. Five started, and a splendid race ensued. Mavis was first past the post on the first round, closely followed by Angler end Foul Play. Then Merlin’s jockey forced the running, closely followed by Mavis and Angler. Foul Play had to carry too much weight, and took fourth place in the race. Selling Race, West End 1 Naughty Boy 2 Barb 3 West End led from the first, and came in an easy winner.
