A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.

A mooting of the committee of the above association was held in its offices yesterday at 2 p.m. Present—Mr Hill (president), in the ohair ; Messrs H. Mcllraith, P. Cunningham, W. Norman, A. W. Money, T. Bruce, W. Gilmour, S. Garforth, Moßeth, J. Anderson, junr., and M. Murphy (secretary). Accounts to the amount of £l7O were passed for payment. A letter was read from the Canterbury Amateur Athletio Sports Association, asking on what terms the use of the association's grounds could be obtained on the oooasion of the Governor's visit. It was agreed that it should be let to the association for the day for the sum of £lO 10s, a marked cheque for that sum to be deposited with the secretary to oover any damage that might be done to the trees, &o. The Chairman called attention to the assessment of the grounds of the association, deeming tne same excessive After come disoussion, it was resolved—- " That the secretary ascertain the value of land recently sold in that locality, and, if deemed advisable, appeal against the assessment. The date of the annual meeting was fixed for Friday, March 11th, at seven o'clock p.m., and the president and vice-president were deputed to draw up the annual report. Messrs H. B. Alport and T. B. Craig were appointed auditors. Mr J. Anderson, jun., moved—" That the association communicate with kindred societies in New Zealand with a view of collecting statistical information of the agricultural productions of the colony, to be exhibited at the next Royal Society's Show in England, and that the Government be asked to aid in the cost of collecting same." He thought it would be the means of attracting capital to the colony if the products of New Zealand, with the cost of production and the cost of land was attaohed ; a similar movement by the Dominion of Canada had been attended with successful results. After some discussion the resolution was agreed to, and a committee, consisting of Messrs H. Mcllraith, P. Cunningham, T. Bruoe, H. P. Murray-Aynsley and the mover, was appointed to report on the matter at a future meeting. It was understood that the exhibits should be collected in time for the 1882 exhibition of the Boyal Society. It was agreed to bring the association under the Act, and the secretary was instructed accordingly. The committee adjourned till February 21st, when the draft report for the annual meeting will he submitted.
