Ballantyne 10 0 0 Early ia March last a contract was entered into for the completion of the nave, inclusive of the large arch at the east end. clerestory and roof, at a coat of nearly .£9600. This sum, however, does not provide for floor tilea and window glass. In addition, provision must be made for furniture, organ, etcetera. The funds available amount to a little over £7OOO, balance of the £BOOO granted by the Synod out of the Church Property Loan floated in London. The Bishop of Christchuroh and the other members of the Cathedral Contmisßion, earnestly appeal to Church people and others for pecuniary assistance. The Commission have : undertaken the completion of the nave, which, it ia expected, will be available for Divine service in twelve months or so from date, believing that further donations will be forthcoming from the many who really wish to see a portion at least of the Cathedral finiahed. Donations or subscriptions, which may be ears, at the option of the subscribers, will be thankfully received by his Lordship the Bisnop, the Dean of Christchurch, or by any other member of the Commission ; also by O. B. BLAKISTON, Secretary and Treasurer, 4-9 7559 Hereford atreet. DR. HASSALL'S BEPOBT. The Analytical and Sanitary Institution, 54, Holborn Viadnct, E.C. London, 9th May, 1877. Report on a Sample of Imperial Schiedam Schnapps received from Mr H. J. Hart. named article to a very careful chemical analysis and examination. .... The results of the analysis, wtueh are set forth in a separate report, show that this spirit is of good strength, practically free from acidity, and that it contains but traces of solid matter in solution. It possesses a delicate and agreeable aroma, and a pure and mild taste. Mr Hart's Schiedam Schnapps ia avery superior article of its class, is well purified, and quite genuine. (Signed) Abthub H. Habsll, M.D., Author of " Pood and its Adulteration." Otto Hbhnvb, P.S.C., Public Analyst. WM. JOHNSON'S BEPOBT. Government Analytical Laboratory, Melbourne, 23rd July, 1877. Henri J. Hart, Esq. Sir,—l have the honor to report for your in. formation that the sample of Imperial Schiedam Schnapps forwarded by you to me has been sub mitted to a searching chemical analysis and critical examination, the result of which enables me to state that it is the finest sample _ of schnapps that has as yet come under my notice. It has a pure fragrant odor, and is absolutely free from any trace of fusil oil or other injurious impurity, and has evidently been distilled from superior rye grain, always nsed instead of malt in the production of the choicest qualities o schnapps. It is very smooth to the palate, an i in this respect compares favorably with other samples offered for sale. It may be advised as equally suitable for medical or eoonomio purposes.—l have tho honor to be, Ac., (Signed) War. Johnson, Analytical Chemist to the Government of Victoria. This pure medical spirit, superior to any in the market, and lower in price, is offered to the publio under the full conviction that it will supersede all others now in use. MEDICAL CERTIFICATES. *' After a careful trial of Mrs Bloor's Farinaceous Food for Infants and Invalids, I feel no little pleasure in recommending it as the best substitute I have met with for tho natural food of infants, from its being highly nutritious, easy of digestion, and not irritating the alimentary canal. In my opinion its more general use would tend greatly to diminish tho excessivo mortality which has hitherto existed in the colony. " Having tried Mrs Bloor's Food for Infant .-J Tam ™ u f ;r,nJ in rnivinrr Mmt T <u>n. sider it an excellent article in all cases where infants are deprived of their natural food, and nvalids suffering from dyspepsia, combined with feeble digestive powers.
